Mar del Plata

Alright, we got our shit together and we're going to Mar del Plata, aka beach. We did this shit so last minute it's amazing. We reserved our hostel and bought our tickets today, both of which were the last ones remaining. We leave tonight at 3 am and we'll get there at 8 am, to sort things out/have breakfast, and then beach time. Bus tickets in Argentina are too good of a value. This 5 hour trip, ida y vuelta (round-trip), is $134 pesos (40 bucks). So I've packed my things up in my small back pack and I'm leaving in like 2 hours. Of course my legendary towel will be making the journey. I'd like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance and multifuctionality of towels.
1) Head support for plane/bus rides
2) Useful for laying on beach
3) Wet and twist for use as weapon
4) Use as turban
5) Use a boat sail
6) Use for a picnic
7) To dry dishes
8) Stuff in pillow case for use in Pillow Wars (I did this)
9) Make shift pillow
10) Blanket for warmth
11) Table cloth
12) Spin around in air to act as signally device
13) If you are in a burning building, dampen towel and use as fire shield
14) Put belongings in center of towel, tie corners together and attach to stick like hobos use
15) And of course, drying yourself off
So I am at Mar del Plata Saturday, Sunday, and I come back Monday night. We amassed quite a group, and what was originally three turned into seven. This is also a 3 day weekend in Argentina so things should be good. Alright, no new news other than that. I'll give a quick Spanish lesson so that you guys can start to get better. Here are 5 key phrases that you have to learn, I've included my helpful pronunciation guide:
1) De dónde sos? (Day doh-day sOhs)Where are you from?, you can respond, "Estados Unidos" (S-tah-dohs Ooo-knee-dohs)
2) Che, qué tal? Todo bien? (Ch-A, K tahl, toe-doh bee-N) Hey, what's up? Everything good? You say: Todo bien y vos? (toe-doh bee-N E vohs) Everythings good and you.
3) Dónde queda _______? (Dohn-day K-duh) (Where is ______? Dónde está works, but it's more like where is something geographically in the world, whereas dónde queda is more like where is with respect to where I am now, aka for asking directions)
4) Dale (DAH-leh) You can pretty much throw this word out at anything as it can mean Ok (in agreement/understanding), enough already, let's go, stop bothering me, go ahead. It just depends on the circumstance and your intonnation.
5) No entiendo (No N-tea-N-doh) / No hablo Castellano (No Ah-blow Cas-teh-JAH-no). I don't understand/ I don't speak Spanish. They don't say español.
That pronuciation guide is spot on by the way. Good luck.
